Over the last several years, I’ve been saying that I’ve been underwhelmed by the fashion choices during Hollywood award shows. This year’s Golden Globes proved me wrong, surprised me and brought back my faith in award show fashion. (Mostly) everyone looked fresh and glowing. I felt like the gowns were the true focal point to the outfits with accessories taking the backstreet. This allowed for the gowns to shine and for these gorgeous women to really show off their beauty. Overall things were simple BUT this made for some seriously beautiful outfits.
Celebrities were finally giving me fashion, killing me with some stellar gowns and slaying the H&M game. Dear Fashion Gods, THANK YOU.
Here are my stand out stars:
JLaw in Dior. It’s a risky cutout/shape but she makes it work. I love red on Jennifer and it brings me back to the day she wore that sexy red Calvin Klein dress to the Academy Awards.
I always love a good white moment and Saiore Ronan is giving me the white moment I’ve been longing for. With the fresh makeup and simple hairdo, everything about this is ethereal.
I die for Kirsten Dunst in this black velvet Valentino dress. The make up is gorgeous and sultry. I might have changed up the hairdo but it still is perfection in my book.
I’m always dying when I see Zendaya on the red carpet. In my books this girl can do no wrong. Once again, she came out and give me everything I love about award shows. From the dress ,to the accessory, to the makeup… Zendaya is serving perfection in this beautiful Marchesa gown.
This Naeem Khan dress could have been very risky to pull off in my opinion but Portia Doubleday wears it beautifully. Because it is such a flashy dress, the simple H&M and lack of accessories really do the whole outfit justice. Portia isn’t “over wearing” the dress and the dress isn’t over wearing her.
Navy is another color I love seeing on the red carpet. I feel like it looks great on a lot of people and it sure looks amazing on Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
Laverne Cox is probably one of my favorite looks of the night. When I talk about a white moment, this is what I’m talking about. This Elizabeth Kennedy gown is what dreams are made of! Laverne looks stunning!
Rounding it up with a dose of color, Jennifer Lopez gives me a million reasons why I want to be her as I get older. J.Lo always gives me fashion, so why should I be surprised? As the most accessorized lady of the night, I say, “Work it, Jenny!”.
Who did you love this year? Were there any celebrities you were dying over? Did anyone disappoint you? Let me know what you think!

I like Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s dress best from these ones! I felt Jennifer Lawrence’s dress was too casual – it’s an interesting cut but not an awards show outfit! (and same with the red CK number she wore years ago)
