Every year I live for award season fashion and even if most of the time it disappoints. I never do red carpet “fails” though because that would be a LONG list. I kid, I kid!

This year’s Golden Globes red carpet looks took a more daring approach and I say daring not in terms of outlandish garments but in the message stars took to the carpet. 2017 was a real eye opener for Hollywood, with sexual harassment scandals finally making there way to the general public, Hollywood finally realized some MAJOR changes needed to be made. Here’s to #timesup! Hopefully some big changes will actually take place.

A LOT and I mean a LOT of black gowns made their debut on the red carpet. I think this speaks volumes as to what is going on currently. Here’s to the “death” of old Hollywood and the birth of awakening and justice.

So while the color palette was limited, some major looks were served and served greatly with a side of “in your face time for change” tea.

Here are my top  looks for this years 2018 Golden Globes

1.Jessica Biel in Christian Dior

 

In my book, Jessica Biel hardly ever does wrong on the red carpet. This black Dior gown is elegant and timeless, the accessories chosen are just right and let’s face it, the women is just gorgeous! JT is definitely one lucky man.

 

2.Margot Robbie in Gucci

 

We all know Gucci has been having a major moment and Robbie is looking MAJOR in Gucci. The plunging V-neck gives the gown the right about of sexy and the jeweled flower detail in the front of the dress gives it the dazzle Margot deserves.

    3. Mandy Moore in Rosie Assoulin

 

Mandy Moore, honey! I was not expecting this. Moore looked stunning; the dress itself is simple, very basic and “drapey” but she looks fresh and elegant in it none the less!

 

     4. Millie Bobbie Brown in Calvin Klein

 

I’m not the biggest fan of mini dresses on the red carpet, especially for an event like the Golden Globes, but given Millie’s age this is definitely more appropriate for her. A long gown would have aged her, this CK mini dress is elegant enough for the red carpet and on Millie it’s a winner. And look at this young lady stepping out in black! YOU GO GIRL!

 

 

    5. Issa Rae in Prabal Gurung

 

Issa is hands down my stand out star this year! Move over Angelina, Issa is serving some major leg for 2018. Not only is this dress sexy, Issa looks absolutely beautiful. Issa says her beauty secret is a jade roller, so you know what I’m ordering tonight! Hello gorgeous skin!
