Kicking off award season, we had the 2019 Golden Globes last night. Every year I do a post showcasing my favorite looks from the evening. This year, I was confused and underwhelmed by a lot of the looks. And honestly, in recent years I’ve been let down. Some celebrities really let me down this year but that’s okay, we still have more award shows for redemption.

 

Gemma Chan in Valentino

I may be bias because I’m obsessing over Gemma Chan after watching, “Crazy Rich Asians”, but home girl looks stunning. The dress is a bit different but I think it fits her nicely and the color looks beautiful on her. It’s also a great color for a red carpet event. Her hair and makeup are classic and work well with this conventional dress.

Allison Janney in Christian Siriano

Can we talk about how shook I was when I saw Allison Janney in this dress? This was the biggest surprise of evening for me. I thought the color was absolutely gorgeous and she looks like such a babe in this! Talk about fitting like a glove. I liked the accessories that were paired with this gown as well. I may have liked something different with her hair but this straight look still does her justice.

 

Sandra Oh in Atelier Versace

Sandra Oh, YES! This white Versace gown and this classic Hollywood hair and makeup is giving me life. Everything about this is perfection. The accessories aren’t too much, the dress is gorg and everything allows Sandra’s beauty to shine through. This was one of my favorites of the evening. A true show stopper for a grand host 🙂

 

Lucy Liu in Galia Lahav

I know this dress isn’t everyones cup of tea but I absolutely adore it. The think the pattern and the colors are interesting. It’s high fashion without being too crazy. Her makeup and hair are simple and let the dress shine WITHOUT losing the beauty that is Lucy Liu.

Kristin Cavallari in AMEN couture

I love a gold gown for the red carpet and there were a few at the Golden Globes. However, Kristin’s gold number was my favorite. It’s sexy but not in an over the top kind of way. She definitely shines like the Golden Goddess that she is.

There were still several others that I loved, like Lucy Boynton, Rachel Brosnahan and Regina King. However I just wanted to showcase my top 5.
