It can be so easy to get caught up in the day to day, life is so busy these days. It means that we rarely make time for ourselves, we rarely prioritize ourselves and our wellbeing. It can also feel like there simply isn’t the time for it, and yet we can do so much for ourselves in just spare half an hours here and there in our week. Instead of scrolling through social media or watching TV, choose something from our list as we share 6 things to do for you today, and we are sure you will feel brighter for it.
Visualize yourself
Grab a notepad and pencil and make an effort to visualise yourself as you are and as you want to be.
We can sometimes lose a sense of who we are now, and perhaps the person that we really want to be. By taking the time out to do this for ourselves it both raises the importance of focusing on ourselves and allows us to see things more clearly.
Make Plans
This one can be around absolutely anything that you want it to be, as making plans can make us feel excited and energized. You might make plans to meet with a friend or perhaps your plans revolve around decluttering your house.
Whatever the plans are, take your time to think them through and execute them if they make you feel good.
Get outside
There are few things that are going to lift your spirits and mood faster than simply stepping outside. This one is also very easy to do, an instant fix in some cases.
If you have spent your working day in an office staring at a screen, your body will be crying out for this, so do deliver it.
Ideally, walk, jog or cycle somewhere where you will be surrounded by nature as studies show that nature can be linked to an improvement in our health and happiness.
Daydream again
Do you remember when you were a child and you used to daydream about all that you could do and could be? When was the last time that you did this?
Whether you have always yearned to travel to the land of the Incas or wanted to write your own poetry, daydream about it, revel in it.
Daydreaming is good for the soul, and now that we are adults we can even do something about those dreams. Tie these daydreams in with making plans and get a new project or trip planned.
Take a break
Simply take a break, take the time to slow down completely. For you, this might be meditation or yoga or perhaps you will lose yourself in a book or immerse yourself in a warm bubble bath.
We so rarely take a break from all that we need to do, but we need to do this in order to recharge.
Draw up a gratitude list
This one is great to do as it will give you an immediate feel-good vibe.
Draw up a list of everything that you are grateful for. It could be anything from it being a sunny day to having enjoyed your lunch to thinking about your loved ones. Make those items on that list as big or small as you want, and you will soon find a long list emerging.
Until next time,
