** I was invited to Tapa Toro to try their blended burger, however all opinions are my own.
As an Orlando resident, I tend to stay clear of the really touristy areas. One of those areas being I-Drive. It’s a strip of Orlando that is as touristy as they come. With the convention center, endless hotels and countless restaurants the area can be a bit overwhelming.
There are however a few gems among the strip of chain restaurants. One of them being, Tapa Toro. We actually have quite a few really good tapas style restaurants in the area, and Tapa Toro is one of them.
Steven and I braved the crazy I-4 traffic to make our way to try out a special menu item they had that would only be available until July 31st, the El Flamenco Burger. This burger was created for the James Beard Foundation Blended Burger Project. The challenge for the chefs was to create a sustainable burger. Tapa Toro created their burger using a 70% blend of chuck and ribeye and 30% mushroom.
We had our eyes on a few other menu items so we were ready and set to get our grub on!
Coca Moruno
The coca moruno is a rustic style flat bread with elevated flavors. I’m a huge fan of salty and sweet dishes, I love the balance of those flavors together. This flat bread offers that balance. There’s sweetness from the golden raisins and saltiness from the chorizo. It’s a beautifully balanced appetizer that’s perfect for sharing.
Sangria Flight
Move over beer, there’s a new kind of flight in town! This is a welcome delight from the standard! The flight includes: hibiscus apricot, melon & basil, blood orange watermelon and mango passion fruit. Steven loved the melon & basil while I loved the mango passion fruit.
El Flamenco Burger
The burger itself was DELICIOUS. It had this wonderful rich taste and was juicy.
There was a great balance of flavors and textures. The crunch from the chips paired well with creaminess of the cheese. It was a unique burger that a lot of thought went into when creating.
If you’re in the area I highly suggest checking them. The restaurant is beautiful, service is wonderful and of course the food is delicious!
One of the best parts of Tapa Toro? It’s location on I-Drive. There’s a free parking garage nearby which is a super plus. There’s also the Orlando Eye, Sea Life Aquarium, and the famous Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum.
While we were out there we decided to visit the aquarium because it sounded fun.
Have you been to either one of these places? What are some places on I-Drive that you recommend for me to visit? Let me know in the comments below!
Until next time,

The flat bread looks delicious! And not too filling so you can leave room for other goodies! 😉
I love visiting aquariums whenever we travel – there’s just something about sea creatures that we love. I especially find the jellyfish to be so calming.
