Staying organized is super important to me. I have a pretty busy schedule, so I try and keep track of things as much as I can. I’m sure most of us have hectic schedules, from school assignments to mommy duties, many of us have a lot on our plates! I juggle several jobs and some of them don’t have “set” schedules so I need to make sure I’m not doubled booked and that I keep everything on track.
I’ve recently started watching some youtube videos from people regarding their agendas and planners and I’ve fallen in love! (I’ve also joined some facebook groups and Instagram accounts for inspiration) Keeping my planner organized AND cute go hand in hand for me. When my planner looks cute, I’m more inclined to use it. Lame I know, but it works for me. I’m thinking of doing a “Tidy Tuesday” and have blog posts dedicated to staying organized, agenda hauls, and decorating tips. My hope is to inspire someone to get organized or spread a little agenda inspiration.
So I’m currently using a Kate Spade spiral agenda. The first time I saw it, I fell in love. The gold and white color scheme was right up my alley. I’m not a huge fan of it not being a binder but I think I’ll live with that now. For my next agenda I’m definitely going to go with a binder style, probably something from Kikki K (which I have been eyeing!). I saw this agenda first at Dillard’s but debated whether or not I would buy it. A week later it was on sale for $25 so I took it as a sign that it was meant to be mine.
I try and sit down once to twice a week to go over my schedule and make sure things look right. I do utilize my planner everyday though. One of the main reasons why I’m using my schedule everyday is I try and keep track of my workouts. I’m not sure I want to keep a second planner or binder in order to record my workouts because I don’t do anything too crazy. My workout routine is pretty simple and for the most part, I exercise because staying active and healthy is important to me. Being able to write down my goals and what I’ve accomplished in regards to workouts is extremely helpful and motivating. I try and set a goal for my workouts for the week, as well as keep a schedule of workout classes I might be interested in taking that week.
Anyways, here’s a breakdown of my planner for this week:
This week is pretty mild. I don’t have too much going on so nothing wild or exciting to so you. I got the sticky notes from Target’s Dollar Spot. The yellow tag that I used to write down the workout classes is from Marshall’s and it was 99 cents. The Chinese stickers are from Party City and it was 99 cents for a pack of 60 stickers. The tag I used to write down the bible verse is from Michael’s and it was part of a pack that I found in the Project Life section and it was on sale for $5.99.
When I had originally sat down to go over my schedule for the week, my weak was bare. I normally decorate on Sunday when I go over my schedule but yesterday and today I had a lot of changes.
When my week is looking sparse, I like to decorate. I’ll write down inspirational quotes, use stickers, washi tape or sometimes draw. I like to stick with a theme for the month, so since it’s February I used a lot of Valentines decor. The quotes I used were all based on love as well…. you know, I do love a good theme 🙂
I hope this helps some of you out and I’m excited for this series and getting to see what you guys think.
Do you plan and organize? What kind of agenda do you use? Do you decorate or keep things simple? Let me know!
